What can we help you find?

🔐 Managing your account

At TrueMaple, we value open dialogue and the free exchange of ideas. However, to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all Canadians, we may suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. Below you’ll find information on why accounts may be suspended and how to resolve issues.

🔎 Why Might My TrueMaple Account Be Suspended?

Accounts may be suspended for the following reasons:

1. Spam or Fake Accounts

Accounts created solely to distribute spam, manipulate engagement, or impersonate others may be suspended. This helps maintain trust and safety across the platform.

2. Security Concerns

If your account shows signs of being hacked or compromised, we may temporarily suspend it to prevent unauthorized or malicious activity. You can reclaim your account by verifying your identity.

3. Abusive or Illegal Behavior

We support free speech, but not harassment or threats. Accounts may be suspended for:

  • Targeted abuse or harassment

  • Inciting violence or hate speech (as defined by Canadian law)

  • Sharing illegal or non-consensual sexual content

  • Promoting criminal activity

4. Impersonation or Misrepresentation

If you impersonate another individual, group, or organization without making it clear that it’s parody or satire, your account may be suspended.

Example of acceptable parody:
Handle: @ParodyJustinTrudeau
Bio: “Parody account. Not affiliated with Justin Trudeau.”

How to Report an Account on TrueMaple

We believe in free speech — but also in protecting our users from harassment, impersonation, and illegal content. If you see an account violating the TrueMaple Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, you can report it directly from their profile.

🚨 Step-by-Step: Reporting an Account

  1. Go to the Profile of the user you want to report.

  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) located next to the Follow button.

  3. Select “Report Account” from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose the reason for your report (e.g., harassment, impersonation, spam, illegal content).

  5. Provide any additional information if prompted, then submit your report.

🛡️ What Happens Next?

  • Our moderation team will review the report as quickly as possible.

  • If the account violates our rules, appropriate action may be taken — including warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal.

  • Reports are confidential. The account you report will not know who reported them.

🧭 Report Responsibly

Only report accounts that genuinely break the rules. Misuse of the reporting feature (e.g., false reports or harassment via reporting) may lead to action against your own account.
