What is TrueMaple?
TrueMaple is a Canadian social media platform designed to protect and promote free speech. Users can communicate and stay connected by posting messages that may contain photos, videos, links, and text. These posts appear on your profile, are sent to your followers, and are searchable within TrueMaple.

Do I need anything special to use it?
All you need is an internet connection and a device to access truemaple.net. You can sign up at truemaple.net/signup. Currently, TrueMaple is available only via website—there is no app yet.

What’s a post?
A post is any message you publish on TrueMaple, which can include photos, videos, links, and text. Click or tap the post button to share an update on your profile.

How can I send updates on TrueMaple?
You can post updates directly from the website.

What is a Repost?
A repost is when you forward someone else’s post to your own followers.

How do I post a picture?
Uploading and sharing images is simple. Use the post button and select the image you want to share.

Can I edit a post once I’ve posted it?
Editing posts is available to all users. To edit a post, click the three dots on the post, then select the edit icon.

How do I customize my view?

  • On desktop: Click your profile picture in the top right, scroll down to Theme, and select the theme you want (light, dark, or black).

  • On mobile: Tap your profile picture at the top left, scroll down and select Preferences, then choose Theme to select light, dark, black, or system theme.

Who reads my updates?
Your followers see your posts. If your posts are public, anyone searching for keywords in your post may also see them. By default, posts are public. To restrict, you can protect your posts to approve followers and keep updates out of search.

Following

What does it mean to follow someone on TrueMaple?
Following someone means you subscribe to their updates. Their posts will appear on your Home timeline.

How do I find people to follow?
After creating your account, you can search by name or username or check out suggested profiles to see accounts recommended for you to follow and get started.

How do I know who I’m following?
After clicking the Follow button on a profile, you follow that account. You can see a list of people you follow by clicking the Following link on your profile page or the sidebar.

How do I know who is following me?
TrueMaple notifies you when someone new follows you. You can also view your followers by clicking the Followers link on your profile page.

Are there limits on how many accounts I can follow?
No, TrueMaple does not impose limits on how many accounts you can follow.

Replies

What are replies?
A reply is a response to another person’s post. Click or tap the reply icon on a post to reply.

What is the difference between a reply and a Direct Message?
A reply is a public message visible to anyone (if your posts are public). A Direct Message is private and visible only to the sender and intended recipient(s).

How do I send a Direct Message?
To send a Direct Message, go to someone’s profile and click the message icon next to the three dots. Alternatively, on the sidebar, click Chats and search for the user you want to message.

Creating a TrueMaple TV Account

You don’t need a TrueMaple account to create a TrueMaple TV account.

How to create a TrueMaple TV account:

  1. Go to tv.truemaple.net.

  2. Click on Create an account.

  3. Fill in the required details to create your TrueMaple TV account.

  4. Once registered, you can sign in to watch

Policies and Reporting

Why are accounts suspended?
Accounts may be suspended for violating TrueMaple’s Terms of Service or during spam investigations.

How do I report spam?
Use the report feature on the offending account or message. Blocking spammers is also encouraged.

Where can I find TrueMaple’s Terms of Service?
TrueMaple’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines are available on our website.

How do I submit a complaint about copyright, impersonation, trademark, or other Terms of Service issues?
